Dr. Sikander Khan has arranged and organized, attended, chaired, panelist, acted as a moderator, supervised PhD and Master’s thesis, and/or presented papers at over 200 international conferences, workshops, and symposiums in over 100 leading universities in more than 50 countries.
Taught senior executive courses and presented scientific papers with focus on topics relating to Project Management and Investment Promotion (sustainable green ecotourism projects, blue tourism, renewable energy/clean tech, risk analysis, preparing feasibility studies, project financing models such as Green and Blue Bonds, blended finance);
Preparing Investor’s Guide (and video films) on investment policies, incentives and regulations: Training programs dealing with Business Intelligence including geostrategies (geopolitics, geoeconomics, geo military and environment), and big data; IPRs (intellectual Property Rights) issues;
Prepared clients for Accreditation and Certification, such as EQUIS Accredited, EFMD Accredited, AACSB Accredited, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Certification, WELL Building Standard Program, and Green Growth Certificate.

UNIDO’s Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) for promoting FDI to Indonesia. Purpose of mission: to develop an integrated investment programme for Kawasan Timur Indonesia (KTI) or Eastern Indonesia, namely: 1) Ujung Pandang (South Sulawesi), 2) Kendari (South-East Sulawesi), 3) Palu (Central Sulawesi), 4) Manado (North Sulawesi), 5) Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan), 6) Samarinda (East Kalimantan), and 7) Pontianak (West Kalimantan). The first seven selected provinces out of 13 KTI provinces were geared to the newly established Growth Triangle of BIMP – EAGA (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine – East Asian Growth Area).

UNIDO’s Chief Technical Advisor on promoting FDI to Mongolia. The purpose of Dr. Khan’s mission was to expand Mongolia’s industrial production by reviewing industrial sectors attractive for investment and identifying potentially viable industrial investment projects which require financial, technical, managerial or other resources for their implementation through any form of business-oriented industrial co-operation between national investors and suitable foreign partners.
Gave advice and organised seminars and training workshops on “Investment Promotion and preparing Feasibility Studies” for the staff members of MTI (Ministry of Trade and Industry), NDB (National Development Board), Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, Ulan Bator. A large number of projects were Identified, formulated and screened all over Mongolia. Viable projects for promotion were identified in the following areas: pharmaceutical industry, such as catgut for surgery (from animals); wood processing; moulded pulp production plant; leather garments; food and beverages; mining industry (copper, tin, zinc, lead, rare earth, gold, silver, tungsten (Wolfram), gemstone, uranium, fluorite, iron ore and so forth; eco-touristic resorts/hotels such as the Chingis Khan Hotel.
